The “Truthy” Database and Other Orwellian Ideas

 In Be The People TV

Have you heard of George Orwell’s 1984? We the People are living an Orwellian nightmare. Our federal government is spending almost a million bucks to create the “Truthy” database, which is designed to “track and monitor false and misleading ideas” on Twitter. Designed by two professors at Indiana University and funded by the National Science Foundation, the Truthy database will track and identify social pollution on the Internet.

The Washington Free Beacon reports: “Truthy” claims to be non-partisan. However, the project’s lead investigator Filippo Menczer proclaims his support for numerous progressive advocacy groups, including President Barack Obama’s Organizing for Action, Moveon.org, Greenpeace, the Sierra Club, Amnesty International, and True Majority. “

Watching and tracking our private behavior is nothing new. In 2010, it was revealed that the Obama Administration’s dysfunctional Department of Homeland Security has been monitoring the online activities of millions of Americans since 2010. The dangerous alliance between Google and the National Security Agency was revealed in 2009.

In describing the planned database, the researchers said that it “could mitigate the diffusion of false and misleading ideas, detect hate speech and subversive propaganda, and assist in the preservation of open debate.” Assist in the preservation of open debate? Nothing about the database or the Obama Administration’s radical agenda is about open debate: it is about silencing and shutting down anyone who disagrees with its immoral, politically correct agenda.
