Professor Carol Swain announced Monday (1/23/17) that she would be retiring from Vanderbilt University at the end of the school year. The Vanderbilt Hustler spoke with her Wednesday about her decision, college campuses and what’s next in her career.

In your retirement announcement, you said that you “will not miss what American universities have allowed themselves to become.” What are some specific examples of the changes you don’t agree with at colleges across the country?”
