Hillary Clinton’s Most Egregious Lie

Hillaty ClintonThe Benghazi hearing with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have come and gone.  The mainstream media, true to their liberal form, have managed to spin the event as a positive moment for Mrs. Clinton. There was one clear fact that came out of the hearings.  It was the “big lie.” For weeks following the Benghazi tragedy, we were told by then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and her boss, President Obama, that this unfortunate incident was the result of a protest that got out of control regarding a YouTube film.  Never mind the fact that most protestors don’t go to a protest with grenade launchers and weapons under their control for mortar fire.

It was revealed in the Congressional hearing that Mrs. Clinton communicated by email, strange enough, to her daughter on the day of the attack that it was terrorist related.  She soon made the same communication to the president of Libya and to the prime minister of Egypt. What the American people got from her lips was that the attack was provoked by the YouTube film that dishonored the Prophet Mohammed. Such a protest was not very spontaneous given that the film was posted some three months before.  “Blame the movie” became the official position of the Obama Administration.  United Nations representative Susan Rice was dispatched to all the five Sunday political news shows to cast the guilt onto the movie. Why did she not win an Emmy for best performance in a TV fictional drama? President Obama publicly joined the lie team as he pointed a finger at the movie in a UN speech and at the renowned political forum known as the Late Night with Dave Letterman.

Why the lie? The truth is that it was a terrorist attack on the consulate in Benghazi and four Americans, including an ambassador, were killed. The Democrats had just concluded their convention where they nominated Barack Obama for reelection. At the convention, the killing of Bin Laden was heralded as a great achievement of the President that led to proclamations that the war on terror was won.  To have a real terrorist attack taking place on the anniversary of 9-11 would be a little too embarrassing for the President and might harm his bid for reelection. If four Americans had to die to safeguard the reelection of Barak Obama, then it was a necessary sacrifice that had to be made. Therefore, an alternative narrative had to emerge which meant a piece of bad luck for a lowly obscure filmmaker. Clinton and Obama lied to America, then took their show global.  They used $70,000 of our taxpayer dollars to produce a minute long commercial to run on Pakistani television to quell unrest in that country.  One hopes that the 70 grand was spent on the media buy rather than the production of the ad since it was just a replay of clips the two leaders had already voiced in front of cameras.

Hillary Clinton lied to the American people on Benghazi, and then lied to the people of Pakistan, but the most grievous lie was when she was face to face with the family members of those who died as their bodies arrived back in the country.  To these grieving family members she repeated the lie and assured them that the administration would punish the man who made the movie. Clinton’s lying about Benghazi is major news, but will be ignored by the mainstream media. It is a fact that should disqualify her from being president.  It will only be brought to the voters’ attention if the Republicans make it the focus of a campaign ad.  This would be a wise strategy, but we have seen in the past that such wise campaign actions do not always have a strong gravitational pull on the GOP.

In 1974, Bill Clinton made the following statement during a campaign speech, “If a President of the United States ever lied to the American people, he should resign.” These words were uttered during the Watergate scandal.  As president, Bill Clinton lied about his sex scandal with an intern. He later lost his law license because he was proven guilty of perjury. It seems his spouse has also mastered this deceitful craft.  If Hillary Clinton is elected president, it means character no longer matters in our nation. If a nation has no character, it no longer can maintain a positive presence on the world stage. The moral vacuum it leaves will be destructive.
