The Fruits of Radical Islam
Jesus said you shall know them by their fruits. Along with that, it should come as no surprise that pouring kerosene on your living room sofa and lighting it with a match could lead to burning down your house—rather rapidly. The same is true of our approach to radical Islam.
It should be no surprise that granting Muslims autonomy in dozens of European cities has led to the emboldening of radical Islam in that continent. Again and again, we have seen the fruits of Islam. Most recently the truth of radical Islam has come to fruition in Paris, where 10 journalists and two police officers were killed after a satirical newspaper – Charlie Hebdo, a weekly publication long known for consistently poking fun at religion and politicians – lampooned Islam one too many times.
At the attackers’ cry of “Allahu Akbar!”, these innocent people were murdered in cold blood because of a cartoon depiction of Muhammad, among other depictions. So why should we care, apart from feeling badly for the victims? We should care because there are lessons to be learned from what has recently happened in Europe. Many of its major cities, including Paris, have large “no go zones” populated largely by Muslims, controlled by Sharia law, and where local police and fire departments will not enter. Politically correct European governments have enabled this by accommodating it; as a consequence, they have aided in their own potential destruction by basically creating nations within nations where Sharia is the law. Former non-Muslim residents have been forced to move out or live their lives in fear.
This could never happen here, right? Well, like Europe, America has allowed its commitment to political correctness and multiculturalism to override common sense. Instead of becoming one nation under God, we have allowed ourselves to be divided into many competing groups with selfish agendas. The ideal of the melting pot has taken a back seat to the celebration of diversity. We can no longer call things what they are. We have to guard what we say to the point of stifling our own free speech. Common sense, however, requires that we start calling Islamic terrorism what it is and stop bending over backward to appease Islamic groups in our country and elsewhere. American dollars should not be used to fund the enemies of liberty, justice, and peace.
