Is Portland Community College Shaming White People into Submission?

In Entertainment, Featured, News, Race Relations, U.S.

Is “whiteness” dangerous to our society? Some academicians seem to think so. In an effort to sensitize the insensitive, Portland Community College is educating young people about the relationship between “whiteness” and racial inequality. Whites are being rewarded with their own “Whiteness History Month.” We are assured that whiteness is about more than race.

Whiteness “does not simply refer to skin color[,] but [to] an ideology based on beliefs, values, behaviors, habits, and attitudes, which result in the unequal distribution of power and privilege based on skin color.”

According to this definition, Rachel Dolezal and Shaun King can become authentically black, while black conservatives can be ousted based on their rejection of the victim mentality.

Portland Community College has designated April “Whiteness History Month” (WHM), an “educational project” exploring how the “construct of whiteness” creates racial inequality.

“‘Whiteness History Month: Context, Consequences, and Change’ is a multidisciplinary, district-wide, educational project examining race and racism through an exploration of the construction of whiteness, its origins, and heritage,” PCC states on its website. “Scheduled for the month of April 2016, the project seeks to inspire innovative and practical solutions to community issues and social problems that stem from racism.” Read More Here

It would not surprise me at all if there is going to be a backlash as a
result of this racist project I would think that taxpayers would be very
angry at seeing their hard-earned tax money going to subsidize such a
project. I would also think that this “project” will
    contribute to a divisive
academic community based on race. Those individuals serving on the Portland Community College’s Diversity Committee should realize that by supporting this “White Shaming” Month, they in turn are saying in so many words that generally all whites are racist and that bigotry can only be found in the “white race,” but not in any other race

Pull the taxpayer funding from any school that propagates this genocidal rhetoric. Make this an election issue for every governor, attorney general, state senator, state representative, school board member, city council member, etc., etc., in every city, county, and state election. Voters can stop this madness. If we don’t, it will only lead to more violence.

No group will make me shameful of my heritage. I am proud to be white, I may not be proud of everything my ancestors have done. I am also not responsible for anything my ancestors have done.
