The Climate Change Scam: What We Should Believe and Why?

On his historical visit to the United States, Pope Francis visited the White House where he and the president publicly shared their common ground on global warming.  Clearly, the Pope has strong views on this and other issues.  The question we need to ask is, “Can we believe what we are being told about global warming?”  If it is not true then it is one of the biggest scams that the Liberals have ever pushed on “we the people.” Maxim Lott wrote an article entitled “Eight Botched Environmental Forecasts” in December of 2009.1 Five of the eight are examined below with my comments:

[By] 1995, the greenhouse effect would be desolating the heartlands of North America and Eurasia with horrific drought, causing crop failures and food riots…[By 1996] The Platte River of Nebraska would be dry, while a continent-wide black blizzard of prairie topsoil will stop traffic on interstates, strip paint from houses and shut down computers.” Michael Oppenheimer, published in “Dead Heat,” St. Martin’s Press, 1990.

I have had to deal with some whiteouts caused by snow storms, but I have not had to deal with a blackout from a top soil storm, and my computer still is working.

“Arctic specialist Bernt Balchen says a general warming trend over the North Pole is melting the polar ice cap and may produce an ice-free Arctic Ocean by the year 2000.” Christian Science Monitor, June 8, 1972.

The quote below reveals the fallacy of this prediction better than anything I can say.

MYTH 10:  The earth’s poles are warming; polar ice caps are breaking up and melting and the sea level rising.

FACT:  The earth is variable. The Arctic Region had warmed from 1966 to 2005, due to cyclic events in the Pacific Ocean and soot from Asia darkening the ice, but there has been no warming since 2005. Current temperatures are the same as in 1943. The small Palmer Peninsula of Antarctica is getting warmer, while the main Antarctic continent is actually cooling. Ice cap thicknesses in both Greenland and Antarctica are increasing.2

“By 1985, air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.” Life magazine, January 1970.

It is long past 1985 and I’m still reaching for my sunglasses when it’s not overcast and driving with my lights off during the day.

“By the year 2000 the United Kingdom will be simply a small group of impoverished islands, inhabited by some 70 million hungry people … If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.” Ehrlich, Speech at British Institute For Biology, September 1971.

This ridiculous statement was made by Dr. Paul Ehrlich, author of “The Population Bomb” and president of Stanford University’s Center for Conservation Biology. In 2006, I visited the United Kingdom and toured England by coach, not boat. I can personally attest that it does exist and is very beautiful.

“In ten years all important animal life in the sea will be extinct. Large areas of coastline will have to be evacuated because of the stench of dead fish.” Ehrlich, speech during Earth Day, 1970

Here it is some 45 years later, and people are still living on our costlines, without the overwhelming stench of dead fish. Commercial fishing still continues to operate and I still visit Red Lobster and do not have to order steak. Perhaps the evacuation needed is some liberal professors from colleges.

If these wacko predictions by environmental experts, who many regard highly, are totally off, then why should we believe what we are told about global warming?  The democrat attempt to pass Cap and Trade in the name of controlling global warming, which would have richly enrich a few Liberals while burdening the rest of the population, crashed and burned. The Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX) became defunct in the process. The CCX was first funded by the Joyce Foundation when it had a board member named Barack Obama and Obama advisor, Valarie Jarett has also serve in this capacity. Al Gore and Richard Sandor, a college professor who helped design the program, sold their interest in the CCX. Sandor got $90 million for his 16% investment.  One can only guess what Gore got.

The administration will not quit on its global warming obsession.  They will try to use the EPA and other agencies they think they can exploit on this issue.  One thing is for sure, if Liberals advance their global warming objectives, a few of them will become very rich while many of the rest of us will wonder how we can pay our electric bill. Those who claim there is real global warming caused by mankind are dead wrong.  If they succeed in advancing their agenda many of us will become dead broke.
