It is time for Georgia and other Southern states to end the glorification of slavery and white supremacy, paid for and maintained, with the taxes of all its citizens,” NAACP President, Richard Rose.
Folks, I’m worried about black leadership in America. It is unfocused as it bounces around from one symbolic, overhyped issue to another. While the Memphis City Council focuses on disturbing the eternal rest of a repentant Nathan Bedford Forrest, the Atlanta NAACP chapter makes headlines by demanding that monuments to Confederate leaders be sandblasted off Stone Mountain. Given the pressing problems facing black Americans, what could be more unreasonable and a bigger waste of time? These so-called leaders are embarrassments to the black community. Where are they when you need them to speak up about illegal immigration, black crime, drug abuse, HIV/AIDs infections, and Planned Parenthood’s targeting of minority neighborhoods? Let’s face it: The campaign against the Confederacy is the latest distraction Democrats have fabricated to take black people’s minds off real problems decimating their communities and the self-inflicted injuries that come from irresponsible black leadership.
